The NIMBUS Select is a large-scale automated electrophoresis and size selection instrument. Powered by Ranger® Technology, the NIMBUS Select is ideal for high throughput laboratories.
The NIMBUS Select, powered by Ranger® Technology, is a high through-put workstation which enables automated DNA electrophoresis for either size selection or fragment length analysis.
It is ideal for high-throughput laboratories for use in next generation sequencing applications including: cloning, gene synthesis and large fragment analysis/quality control. The NIMBUS Select can also be used in NIPT and oncology applications.
The NIMBUS Select automates the entire process from mixing the samples with loading buffer, loading into their gel cassettes, continuously monitoring and controlling the electrophoretic process, to automated extraction of the size selected DNA into clean labware, ready for downstream processing.
This innovative solution enables accurate, high yield recovery of up to 96 DNA samples in two hours (Size Selection). The automated tracking of the entire process produces both electropherograms of the input sample and artificial traces of the output profile. The flexible software enables additional samples to be loaded after a run has commenced and the output data is compatible with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

The NIMBUS Select automates sample handling for up to 96 size selections or 768 fragment analyses. Lower sample throughputs can still be processed cost-effectively as the RFID readers can identify previously used gel cassettes to enable unused channels to be used for new samples. The instrument comes with a 96-channel liquid handling manifold or a 384 manifold for laboratories looking to increase their throughput for fragment analyses.
The NIMBUS Select is a versatile 3-in-1 workstation, combining automated size selection, fragment analysis, and liquid handling in one. This automated instrument improves efficiency and reduces hands on-time, while increasing throughput compared to manual methods.
